Finally in London!

Well I have made it to London and am getting settled in.  We arrived Tuesday, January 17th, at around 7:30 a.m London time, and were transported by coach from the airport to the campus.  We are living in Kensington and the dorm life is oh so different from what I'm used to!  I feel like a freshman again, but that's okay.  I am living with a friend from Iowa State, Hannah Collman.  We live in Atlantic House and are just a few blocks from where our classes are as well as some good shopping on High Street.

Our first day here we got a walking tour of Kensington and took a stroll through Hyde Park.  We saw Kensington Palace where William and Kate will be living in a short while, saw many mansions and flats where famous writers, poets, etc have lived, and saw a few other neat odd and ends places.  Yesterday we had a 3 hour bus tour around London.  We saw all the famous places in London, including Big Ben, the London Eye, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace, and so much more.  Both nights we have been here so far we have gone to a pub for a beer.  Quite a good time!  Very different selection from the U.S. of course. I had something along the lines of a Stella the first night and last night I had a Strongbow.  Very good beer!  Today we did a little shopping for some necessities and we got our cell phones today as well to communicate with one another here.  Tonight we are going to see the musical Wicked which is supposed to be amazing.  I am excited for that!  Here are some pictures from the first few days here with lots more to come!  Will try and update the blog at least weekly-enjoy!
